The Diet Center Program:

Lose Weight Fast and Keep it Off Forever

Theory:

The Diet Center Reducing Diet is not a high-protein diet nor is it a high-carbohydrate diet.  It is a well-balanced program providing correct percentage of proteins, carbohydrates, and fats within the needed maximum number of calories.  Diet Center bases its program on nutrients by using the Recommended Daily Allowances (RDA).

Protein - Dieters should eat their two servings of protein – 3 ˝ ounces, each, cooked - for lunch and dinner.  Do not use eggs as a sole source of protein at one meal.

Carbohydrates on the Reducing Program come from fruits, vegetables and whole grains.

  • Vegetables - Make up a large part of the total volume of foods eat each day while dieting.  One exception: years of monitoring the progress of women dieters has shown that eating raw and cooked vegetables at the same meal inhibits weight loss.
  • Fruits – On the Reducing Diet, two fruits are eaten per day.  One of these must be a large apple.  It is recommended that fruits be used as in-between-meal snacks.  Dieters are not allowed to substitute juices for whole fruits.

Oil is an essential component in the diet.  It is important that oil be measured very carefully – only 2 teaspoonfuls a day.  The oils on the Reducing list are all polyunsaturates from natural plant sources.  Do not heat oil.  Heating the oil may cause compositional changes that directly affect weight loss

Seasonings – do not overuse salt.  Herbal seasoning are recommended to be used in place of salt

Water – Dieters are instructed to drink eight 8-ounce glasses of water throughout each day

Lemons – Lemons are an important part of dieting.  Lemon juice is high in vitamin C and acts as a “cleansing agent” for the skin, hair, digestive tract, and excretory.  Dieters must drink 2 tablespoonfuls of pure lemon juice in 8 ounces of hot water each morning

The Diet Center Total Program consists of a four-phase diet regimen:

The Conditioning Diet (Phase One) prepares you to diet

The Reducing Diet (Phase Two) promotes rapid, yet safe, weight loss

The Stabilization Diet (Phase Three) provides a “resting point” in the transition back to everyday eating

The Maintenance Diet (Phase Four) is the “blue print” for a lifetime of nutritious eating and permanent weight control.

Conditioning Phase – Two Days only

7:30 a.m. 1 (500 mg. time-release) vitamin C, 750 mg. calcium tablet(s), hot lemonade (2 Tbsp. pure lemon juice in 8 oz. hot water)

8:00 a.m. 1 grapefruit, 2 eggs, 1 glass (oz.) water

10:00 a.m. 1 orange, 3 Diet Center Thins or 1 Wasa Brod, 1 glass (8 oz.) water

11:30 a.m. 1 glass water

12:00 noon 1 apple (eat entire apple before you eat meal), chicken breast, salad of mixed vegetables (1 packet Diet Center Dressing or oil and vinegar dressing), steamed green beans, 3 Diet Center Thins or 1 Wasa Brod, 1 glass (8 oz.) water
